Common Spa Questions

Where do I change my clothes?
You will be escorted to our client waiting room.  There you will find private changing rooms and lockers to store your personal belongings.

 

What do I wear?
Your spa attire should be as comfortable as possible.  We provide a robe and sandals if your service calls for you to change out of your clothing.  Simply change into a robe, put your clothing into a locker, and slip your locker key into your robe pocket.  When your service is complete, place your robe and sandals in the clothes hamper located next to the bathroom door in the client waiting room.

 

What do I do with my jewelry?
Leave it at home if possible.  If you bring your jewelry with you, take it off before your service, put it in your purse and lock your purse in your locker: you may end up leaving it behind if you put it into your robe pocket.

 

How do I get from the client waiting room to my treatment room?
Your service provider will escort you from our client waiting room to your treatment room. 

 

Should I wear underwear during a massage, body treatment or facial?
You will be covered with a sheet and towel at all times and the treatment beds are heated.  You are on the treatment bed and completely covered before your therapist enters your room.  If you feel you must wear underwear do so, it certainly is not necessary.  You will find that you will get a much better massage without it.

 

Should I talk during a massage, body treatment or facial?
If you feel like talking, go ahead.  If you want peace and quiet, mention to your therapist that you really need to zone out for an hour.

 

Do you offer couples massage? (2 people in the same room at the same time?)
Sorry, at this time our spa is set up for individual private services.  You may however sit and visit with one another in the mani/pedi rooms but our chairs are not side by side.

 

Can I put makeup on after a facial?
It is not recommended if you are going home.  If you are going out to party, back to work, or shopping for the day—Absolutely!  Just remember, to cleanse before bed.

 

How can I keep my skin looking in "facial" condition?
Take our skin care class.  What you do 365 days a year will determine how your skin looks for the rest of your life.  A facial on a regular basis will boost your at home care.

 

Is your makeup and skin care hypoallergenic? I'm allergic to everything.
The histamine that causes a reaction is in your body, not in the product you apply.  Using the process of elimination you will find that you are not allergic to everything.  We will be happy to work with you one product at a time, to help you find out what you can use.  Hypoallergenic generally means that the product does not contain fragrance.

 

Are men welcome at Absolute Necessities?
Absolutely!  We've done massage, facials, body wraps, pedicures, manicures, and waxing on men of all ages for years.

 

Do you offer spa packages?
Our menu is a la carte.  You may pick and choose to your heart's content.  There are many services that go well together, but we've found that everyone prefers to do their own thing.  We're always happy to offer suggestions.

 

What are Spa Dollars?
We offer spa $'s (2% of the price of your service returned to you in play money to spend in our retail area).

 

What is your product return policy?
Our skin care and makeup products are available for testing.  We also have sample jars that we will be happy to fill and send home with you.  Please never purchase a makeup color without trying it on.  We are always happy to assist you in your choices.  You may return unused product for a total refund within 7 days of purchase.  Once a product has been opened and used we cannot accept it back.  Choose wisely, ask for samples and assistance.

 

Can I use my cellular phone in the spa?
In order to maintain peace in our treatment rooms please turn your phones and pagers off.

 

Can you accommodate groups?
We always try to accommodate a group of pleasure seekers.  Please try to schedule a group appointment at least 6 weeks in advance to ensure service time availability.  The number of people we can accommodate is determined by the services they select.

 

What's your policy on children in the spa?
All staff members either have some, or know some.  We love children.  We don't, however take them into spa services with us. We respectfully request that children under the age of 10 be left with a loving adult so that you and other guests can achieve the relaxation they came for.  If you are shopping in our retail area and have young children with you, please be attentive to them.  It's for their safety and a courtesy to our other spa guests.

 

Are all of your clients 21 and gorgeous?
No, and neither are we.  Our staff ranges in age from 20 to 69 years old.  We do, however, work with everything available to us, so that we continue to look as close to 21 and gorgeous as we can.  Never be afraid to come into Absolute Necessities, no matter what weight you're currently at, what age you are, or what state your skin is in.  We adore all of our ladies for many, many, reasons.  Our clients range from 13 to 95 and we love and care for them all to the best of our ability.

 

Gratuities (Should I tip? What is standard?)
Tipping is not mandatory, but always appreciated.  Leaving gratuities for work well done seems to be the norm in the service industry.  When clients ask us "what's normal to leave a service provider," our answer is "when we personally go to a spa for a service, we leave 15% to 20% of the price of the services provided.  We tip just as we would tip a waitress."  We are not able to add gratuities on credit card.

 

What credit cards do you take?
We accept Visa and Master Card.

 

Can I smoke?
Our spa is smoke free.

 

On repeat visits do I always have to see the same service provider?
If you feel that you would like to try another service provider feel free.  Each staff member is unique in their touch and their view points.  Your services will be done using the same procedure, but with a different touch.  We are all teammates and want you, as our client, to feel comfortable trying services from another member of our team.
